The Backstory
Felicha was raised by a young, single mother, her love-rich maternal family, and a community of family friends and helpful neighbors. Well educated by family and great public school teachers, Felicha excelled in all things "human communication" and later earned academic scholarships and won oratorical competitions, which helped fund her undergraduate education as she pursued a bachelor's degree in English and Communication.
Wanting a deeper level of expertise and greater income potential, Felicha later earned a traditional Master's Degree in Human Resource Development, during which time she was awarded the distinguished nomination as "Graduate Student of the Year".For nearly 20 years, Felicha has been an innovative trendsetter in the training and development field, avidly studying, researching, and delivering new strategies to improve the learning environment and learning experience for adult learners in professional settings.
She has held management positions within Fortune 500 companies, coached executive leaders, designed corporate-wide programs for leadership development, and is a sought-after speaker for groups and organizations who seek management training, professional development, team building, work-life balance, and employee motivational strategies.
In 2003, after more than 12 successful years of traditional business experience within the private, public, and nonprofit sectors, Felicha embarked upon a new journey by starting her own small business enterprise: The Excellence Agency, a boutique training and development firm which features the popular Empowerment SpaÒ learning retreat programs.
Felicha has also served as an adjunct Business Management professor at the historical Fisk University and as an Adult Continuing Education lecturer in Supervisory Management and Leadership Practices for local business and industry professionals.
She is active within several community and civic organizations that advocate for the self-sufficiency and empowerment of women and girls, people with disabilities, and other disadvantaged citizens around the world.
Friends, family, colleagues, and associates have described Felicha as: "incredibly perceptive", "witty", "passionate", "can be unbelievably objective", "too funny!", "doesn't take life or herself too seriously but will handle her business and go for what she really wants", "keeps it real", "asks the tough questions", "my hero", "constantly tries to become a better person in the world", "able to help you see what you need to see and makes no judgments about it or you", "assertive", "energizer bunny", "has a very generous heart".

Felicha shares praise on stage during a gospel brunch at the House of Blues in San Diego CA!
"People often say that it doesn't matter where you start from, it just matters where you end up. I disagree. Coming from where I'm from, it absolutely matters. The Grace, the Goodness, the Grief, and the Gifts that are the journey called life evolve to become your personal testimony. Your past doesn't predict your future and doesn't dictate who you can become. It does, however, have the force to help you soar higher and faster...as long as you remember where you started from.
It absolutely matters - to look back and see how much you've done in and with your life.
It absolutely matters - to understand the depth of the valleys you came up out of, in spite of yourself and others.
It absolutely matters - to realize the heights of the mountains you climbed and to say "Thank You" for God's grace.
Everything about your life absolutely matters. You are built to last.
Don't ever forget that you have a testimony because you survived. Make time every day to celebrate your life!"
